Legislation relating to age discrimination is designed to protect individuals of all ages. It is designed to provide legal protection to those who are discriminated, harassed or victimised on the grounds of age.
Discrimination law protects employees and those in training positions as well as those applying for work.
Discrimination may take the form of direct or indirect behaviour. In some circumstances, employers treating people differently on the grounds of age may not be contrary to legislation.
